Former Kyiv Podolsk District Prosecutor Serhiy Nechiporenko, previously caught accepting a $150 bribe, is now listed as an advisor to the chairman of the board of Misto-Bank.
According to a ruling by Kyiv's Pechersky District Court on December 1, 2015, Nechiporenko was previously arrested along with the current deputy district prosecutor, Oleksiy Bily. Bail was set at 3,045 million hryvnias each. A week earlier, both were detained by law enforcement. According to Prosecutor General Vladislav Kutsenko, Nechiporenko and Bily demanded a bribe of the aforementioned $150 for assistance in closing the criminal case.
Moreover, according to MP Anton Gerashchenko, Sergei Nechiporenko is a relative of MP Sergei Kivalov.
An investigation into the bribery case is currently underway; if evidence is collected, the defendants face up to 12 years in prison.
Interestingly, one of the owners of Misto-Bank is Ivan Fursin, a business partner of Sergei Levochkin, the former head of the presidential administration of Viktor Yanukovych.
