A foreign investor is planning to acquire 25% of Ukrinbank's shares.

Specifically, it is reported that Wings and Freeman Capital (WFC) is in talks to acquire a stake in the Ukrainian financial institution. As Ukrinbank's press service notes, the foreign investor's intention to become a shareholder demonstrates Ukrinbank's transparency.

 

Wings and Freeman Capital (WFC), which plans to acquire Ukrinbank shares, is a founding member of the US government's OPIC agency. The company invests in the financial sector, renewable energy projects, healthcare, and education.

 

According to the agreement, the foreign investor will facilitate the attraction of shareholders to the Ukrainian bank and also conduct a financial audit of Ukrinbank.

 

As of July 1, 2015, Ukrinbank, with total assets of UAH 6,897 billion, ranked 26th among financial institutions operating in Ukraine. Volodymyr Klymenko owns 71,1514% of the bank's shares. Media reports previously indicated that Ukrinbank was in merger talks with another financial institution.
