Viktor Baloha's 27-year-old son, Andriy, won the mayoral election in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia Oblast. The city's election commission made the decision yesterday.
According to the vote count, Baloha Jr. received 54,4% of the votes, with just over 16 voters casting their ballots. Ivan Chubirko came in second (26,5%, 7884 voters). Oleh Kutsin came in third (3,79%, 1121 votes).
Previously, Andriy Baloha served as a member of the Zakarpattia Regional Council. He is also the director of the Mukachevo Furniture Institute LLC and a brick factory in the village of Ivanovka, and also owns the Yezhednevno shopping center in Mukachevo.
Andrey Baloha studied in the United States, but came to do business in his home country.
