"7th Kilometer" is again in turmoil, awaiting a new hostile takeover.

On Thursday, Odessa's "7th Kilometer" market may face another hostile takeover attempt, according to one of the market's entrepreneurs, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

According to him, security personnel working at the 7th station warned the entrepreneurs about a possible violent conflict, eizvestia.com reports.

"There was an attempt to seize us in August, but due to the media coverage, the raiders were unsuccessful and were evicted from the market premises. Although representatives from the city police department were present at the time, they did not intervene. We were warned that there might be another attempt to seize the administration building on the 25th. There are signs of this – the media has started publishing 'paid' stories about the market owners and the judges handling the case," the entrepreneur said.

As a reminder, Odessa Regional Council deputies Denis Voloshin and Viktor Dobryansky are currently attempting to gain control of the market.

Following the Supreme Court of Ukraine's September 2 hearing on the 7th Kilometer case, Denis Voloshin issued a statement claiming the court had ruled to change the market's ownership and transfer it to the deputies. However, as media reports later reported, the Supreme Court had in fact merely returned the case for retrial to the Supreme Economic Court, which had issued a controversial ruling on Voloshin's claim in June.
