Nikolai Martynenko's lawyer wrote on Facebook that NABU Director Artem Sytnyk "continues to demonstrate his unprofessionalism and bias" and is simply using the pretense that his agency will soon submit an indictment against Nikolai Martynenko to court.
Lawyer Igor Cherezov wrote that there is no case against the former MP, and that Martynenko, in the case opened by NABU, "is acting solely as a witness" and has not even been charged with any crime.
According to Cherezov, the NABU is currently at a dead end in the "Martynenko case," as the charges against the former MP are based solely on "paid media reports" that have not been substantiated.
Martynenko's lawyer noted that the NABU has now "effectively begun to fabricate a case against Nikolai Martynenko" and is "putting pressure on various people in every possible way, extracting the necessary testimony."
The lawyer stated that Mr. Sytnyk is simply trying to gain publicity in light of his department's failure in other cases.
On topic: Nikolai Martynenko. Why is the "nuclear oligarch" being so actively dumped?
