Novinsky and Akhmetov's HarvEast holding assets have been withdrawn from Crimea.

HarvistThe assets of Vadim Novinsky and Rinat Akhmetov's agricultural holding, HarvEast, were completely withdrawn from annexed Crimea in March 2016. This was announced on the holding's official website.

The company's website cites the increased risk of farming due to low rainfall in the area where the company's land is located as the official reason for HarvEast's withdrawal from Crimea. Consequently, HarvEast shareholders have decided to withdraw the holding's assets from Crimea.

The agricultural holding HarvEast grew sunflowers and wheat on 20 hectares of land on the peninsula. HarvEast's harvest in Crimea accounted for 10% of the total.

HarvEast agricultural holding was founded in March 2011 based on the agricultural assets of PJSC Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol. Harveast's shareholders are Vadim Novinsky's Smart Holding Group and Rinat Akhmetov's SCM.
