Oleksandr Yanukovych will soon be able to manage his funds, as the Kyiv Court of Appeals has lifted the freeze on them, UP reports, citing its own sources.

It is known that the court made this decision on April 14, 2015. However, the State Financial Monitoring Service (Gosfinmonitoring) blocked them again that same day. However, Yanukovych Jr.'s accounts may be permanently unblocked if the Prosecutor General's Office (GPU) does not reapply to the court for their seizure by May 28, 2015.

As a reminder, Oleksandr Yanukovych's accounts were frozen on April 1 of last year by order of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv. Securities held at VBR Bank were also frozen. The value of the securities at the time of the freeze was UAH 1,067 billion.

Oleksandr Yanukovych owns 100% of VBR Bank's shares. Until mid-2014, its chairperson was Valentina Arbuzova, the mother of former First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov.
