On April 2, 2021, the temporary administrative board of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine decided to fine Google LLC UAH 1 million for failing to submit information within the prescribed timeframe at the request of the state authorized representative of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, reports press office committee.
“This information was necessary for the Committee to investigate a complaint from an individual entrepreneur regarding the blocking of his account in the Google My Business application.”
The failure of the defendant to provide information within the timeframes specified by the Committee makes it impossible for the Committee to fulfill the tasks assigned to it, in particular, the timely, full and comprehensive consideration of the complaint regarding the violation of the legislation on the protection of economic competition.
It should be noted that, already during the consideration of the case brought against the Company for failure to provide information at the Committee's request, the defendant provided the requested information, and the AMCU also took this into account when determining the amount of the fine," the statement said.
