Today, November 28, 2014, the Pechersk District Court of Kiev satisfied the court's request to the Institute of Legal Reforms Andriy Portnov to the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine and ex-career Oleg Makhnitsky about the protection of honor, usefulness and production of unreliable information.
A. Portnov’s representative in court, lawyer Stanislav Nikitin, spoke about this “Law and Business” case.
“The court ruled that Andriy Portnov was not accountable until the theft of budget funds and therefore sent them beyond the cordon, and found the information about it to be completely unreliable,” the lawyer said. — The court ordered the GPU to publicly release this information in the mass media and write a letter to the European Union about those that in the spring of 2014 the Prosecutor General’s Office gave the European Union an inaccurate report information about A. Portnov."
S. Nikitin also guessed that eight out of eight decisions of the court, which were found by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine to Portnov, were wrongful and illegal, calling for the production of unreliable information. “Six decisions of the first instance and two decisions of the appellate courts,” he explained. — In addition, there is another decision of the court that European sanctions against Portnov are in question. Today’s court actually found that the GPU falsified information about Portnov, on the basis of which international sanctions were apparently introduced.”
The lawyer also admitted that in the future, all guilt in these cases may be extended to a criminal level.
