Anna Gopko: The new Verkhovna Rada is working and "dividing up" committee seats according to the old system

On her Facebook page, Samopomich leader Anna Gopko posted highly incriminating information, which makes it clear that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, although new, is operating according to an old, well-established model.

She writes that some MPs from the so-called democratic forces have been pressuring her all day long to ensure that such controversial figures as Geller and Kivalov are appointed first deputy chairs of the budget and justice committees. This is despite the coalition's decision that those who voted for the January 16 laws should not become committee chairs. Moreover, the most controversial figures, like Geller and Kivalov, are not even allowed to serve as deputy chairs. Currently, pressure is being exerted on Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi and the party's leader, in an attempt to persuade their fellow party members to change their positions.

Anna Hopko also stated that her principled position on this issue could cost her dearly. But she fears nothing, as Ukraine cannot live "the new way" with such approaches. And no arguments, even from President Poroshenko, will change their position.
