Atroshenko is the candidate from the "oligarchs' party" in Chernihiv

3297In Chernihiv, a fierce clash ensued between the oligarch party's candidate and the city's community. Vladislav Atroshenko has become the oligarchs' puppet. A possible victory for the oligarchs would be catastrophic for Chernihiv. The oligarchs' goal is to seize key infrastructure assets from our community—the thermal power plant, the water utility, land in the city center, and the property of public utilities. And then, they will increase utility rates for residents by three to five times.

This was written in an open letter to Chernihiv residents by Serhiy Kutsenko, a candidate for mayor of the city. He is associated with Gennady Korban and Myrogorodsky, a representative of the local Batkivshchyna party.

According to Kutsenko, the oligarchs are dictating their demands to Atroshenko, knowing his criminal past. After all, Volodymyr Stretovich, head of the parliamentary committee on combating organized crime, has documented Atroshenko's involvement in criminal offenses.

"During the seizure of the Niva market, three of its former founders were shot. Afterwards, through brutal terror, with people being taken away in handcuffs into the woods, Detsky Mir was taken from the former owners. This oligarch-loving businessman then carried out hostile takeovers of Stary Chernigov, Lakomka OJSC, the Brussel entertainment center, Polesie OJSC, the Vienna store, and a dozen other businesses. They were either stolen from the community or bought for pennies after blackmailing the former owners. And, strange as it may seem, all of them are now controlled by Atroshenko's structures," Kutsenko emphasized in his statement.

In his opinion, a criminal raider and swindler is vying for power in Chernihiv. "His criminal record makes him dependent and dependent. He has nothing to say to the community. After all, as a deputy, he is responsible for the poverty and lack of budget subsidies for Chernihiv's development. But he hasn't even tried to solve the problems of his hometown. And if he becomes mayor, the next day he'll forget his vows from the billboards. He's a 'wedding doll' in the hands of oligarchs. He's being ruthlessly exploited. For the sake of the oligarchs' self-interest and profit," says mayoral candidate Kutsenko.

He recalled that the community had already accused Atroshenko of illegal campaigning and bribing Chernihiv police officers. Kutsenko himself had already demanded that the Prosecutor General's Office open a criminal case against him.

Serhiy Kutsenko is confident that Chernihiv residents will be able to give a "firm rebuff to the oligarchs and their puppets." And their election will open up new horizons for Chernihiv's development.
