Slav Handel, a company owned by Sergey and Andrey Klyuev, has filed for bankruptcy. Two affiliated companies have also declared bankruptcy.

The claim was filed on March 8 with the Vienna Arbitration Court. According to Jürgen Ebauer, a representative of the Austrian creditor protection society KSV1870, the Klyuyevs were unable to obtain loans to pay off their debts, and their own accounts were frozen because the brothers are subject to sanctions as associates of former President Viktor Yanukovych.

It's worth noting that, according to Ebauer, the Klyuevs' company's debt amounts to €112 million, with over 90% of that amount owed to the Chinese state-owned CNBM International. CNBM International supplies construction materials, and the debt stems from orders for solar power plant equipment.

It's worth noting that a Chinese company had previously been awarded control of ten of the Klyuevs' solar power plants to cover the debts of Activ Solar, a company previously owned by the Klyuevs. It is now registered to Kaveh Ertefaye, the son-in-law of former Head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Klyuev. In February, Activ Solar declared bankruptcy. Its debts to the Chinese company amounted to €500 million.
