Kyivenergo's appetite is growing, despite the rapidly declining number of solvent customers. Despite this, Rinat Akhmetov intends to continue increasing tariffs, apparently hoping that those who can afford the monopoly's services will cover the debts of the poor. The next blow to the capital's residents' wallets will be dealt in July: those with house or apartment heat meters will pay a 2,16-fold increase (by UAH 759,72/Gcal), totaling UAH 1416,96/Gcal (including VAT).
For other consumers without meters, starting July 1, 2016, the rate will be calculated at 32,97 UAH/sq.m per month (including VAT), which is a 2,04-fold increase (16,83 UAH/sq.m) per month over the existing rate. The fee for centralized hot water will increase by approximately the same amount (2,03-fold, or 42,18 UAH/cubic meter): with a heated towel rail, you will have to pay 83,1 UAH/cubic meter (including VAT), and without one, 76,71 UAH/cubic meter (including VAT).
