The Cabinet of Ministers intends to transfer the Kyiv bank to the management of the state-owned Ukrgasbank, according to Ukrainian News, citing a representative at the Ministry of Finance.
Specifically, it was reported that a decision on the transfer of Bank Kyiv's liabilities and assets could be made at a government meeting. No further information was provided.
As a reminder, in 2014, Bank Kyiv posted a net loss of UAH 747 million. Following the recapitalization, the state became the owner of 99,93% of Bank Kyiv's shares. According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), as of January 1, Bank Kyiv ranked 67th among 163 operating banks in Ukraine, with assets of UAH 1.485 billion.
Earlier, the head of the National Bank, Valeria Gontareva, stated that she was open to the possibility of Bank Kyiv joining another state-owned bank.
