Activists from one of Ukraine's most prominent patient organizations, "Patients of Ukraine," have rebelled against their leader, the controversial Dmitry Sherembey. This was reported to the publication by one of the activists from the "Patients of Ukraine" Charitable Foundation.
According to the activist, the number of patient organization members who disagree with D. Sherembey's decisions and actions is constantly growing.
"We see that he's not always forthcoming with us and is increasingly using our organization's assets blindly. I won't list all the facts; we'll make them public at a meeting of the organization's assets in the near future, when the final decision on replacing our leader is made. However, you must understand that none of this is without foundation. We are particularly concerned by the fact that Sherembey has become too involved with drug manufacturers, which we should effectively be tacitly promoting as supporters of the foundation, such as those from a manufacturer like Ganza," the activist said.
She also explained that it was precisely because of the internal split within the organization that such a small number of people attended the latest Patients Ukraine events.
"When Dima was tried, no more than 10 people came forward. I think he should draw his own conclusions. In any case, some activists agree that our organization could be led by Anna Gapko (a member of the foundation's Supervisory Board – ed.), whom we respect and value for her work. Today, she's about to become a member of parliament of Ukraine, which will definitely contribute to the development and support of our initiatives," the CF activist added.
As is well known, PJSC "Ganza" is owned by Petr Bagriy, who, as Nashi Groshi reported, was managed by Bagriy's old friend, Nikolai Azarov, to gain a monopoly on the supply of hemophilia medications through Viktor Baloha.
We also recall that the media reported on D. Sherembey's desire to head the Tender Committee of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
