Former owners of Horlivka's Stirol plant seek protection from Groysman

styreneA scandal has brewed involving the former owners of Stirol (Gorlovka, Donetsk Oblast), Mykola Yankovsky and Igor Yankovsky: according to their statement, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada and addressed personally to the Prime Minister (Volodymyr Groysman), their new company, Diamond Sphere Group, has become the target of unfounded attacks and dirty insinuations, which include tax evasion, money laundering, and other illegal activities.
The co-owners' letter states: "We appeal to the Prime Minister, the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine, and other law enforcement agencies with a request to stand up for the protection of bona fide businesses." They also specify that "...at the instigation of certain people's deputies, false information about the beneficiaries of the group of companies is being published in the press, and absurd accusations are being made of violations of the law that allegedly took place 6-10 years ago during the sale of the Stirol concern."
Apparently, this refers to a statement made by Volodymyr Ariev, a BPP MP, who accused Stirol of funneling funds out of Ukraine that were then used to finance the election campaign of former President Viktor Yanukovych.
