Former Party of Regions deputy Antoshchenko is building an estate on the site of a rescue station in the Mykolaiv region.

Former Mykolaiv City Council deputy Yuriy Antoshchenko, who until recently was a member of the Party of Regions, is now completing construction on his luxurious estate on the banks of the Dnieper under the new government.

On November 24, 2011, the City Council transferred ownership of a 0,76-hectare plot of land in the Korabelny district on the Dnieper River beach to Basvar LLC. A large mansion with a dock and access to the water was built on this site. According to the documentation, a rescue diving station was to be located here.

Media reports surfaced that MP Antoshchenko was developing this property, and the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate fined Basvar LLC 100 hryvnias for renaming a non-residential property as residential. It also emerged that the MP was selling the property. And that's supposedly where it all ended.

But as it turned out, all this information was untrue. And now the mansion has grown to a three-story building, and wooden houses have appeared nearby.

According to the former Party of Regions member's 2013 income declaration, his family owned approximately 2 hectares of land. Last year, the State Agricultural Inspectorate found no violations in the land allocation to Basvar LLC, located at 1 Vatutina Street in the Korabelny District of Mykolaiv.

As a reminder, Yuriy Antoshchenko is the CEO of MykolaivOblenergo OJSC. He also owns Ekur LLC, which operates retail stores in Mykolaiv's Korabelny District. Antoshchenko's wife, along with Vasily Ganusovsky, the chief physician of the Mykolaiv SES, own Mykolaiv's minibuses.

In 2010, Yuriy Antoshchenko was elected to the Mykolaiv City Council as a member of the Party of Regions. Currently, like most Party of Regions members, he is independent.
