The former director of Kyiv's Budapest casino (Avalon entertainment complex) has been appointed the new head of the Kyiv Region Department of Economic Development and Trade.
KV learned about this from an order from the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Volodymyr Shandra.
The newly appointed head of the Department confirmed this information. As Igor Samoilov told KV, his first steps in office will be focused on improving the region's economic situation. Furthermore, a system for the direct and transparent provision of administrative services is on the agenda. Regarding personnel rotation, transparent competitions for positions and the systematization of HR management at the local level are on the agenda.
"The region's investment passport is almost ready. I already looked at it today, and it will be available in the coming days," Mr. Samoilov said.
Incidentally, Igor Samoilov previously served at the Regional State Administration as an advisor to Governor Volodymyr Shandra's patronage service. He also served as director of the Budapest Casino (now the Avalon entertainment complex).
As Igor Samoilov told KV, he worked at Avalon solely as CEO and had no stake in the business. However, he is still listed in that position in company registers.
Interestingly, the Budapest casino entertainment center was once considered the fiefdom of the capital's Avdyshev organized crime group.
