On January 20, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission announced that First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Industry and Food Yaroslav Krasnopolsky would combine his post with that of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the State Food and Grain Corporation (SFGC). This position was previously held by Oleksandr Padalko, a protégé of former Minister Igor Shvaika.
Last week, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko announced an audit of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU), with the possible involvement of foreign companies. However, the previous minister, Shvaika, had already announced a similar audit, which had little impact on the corporation's operations. Volodymyr Klymenko, CEO of the Ukrainian Grain Association, points out that the first priority for the new SFGCU management, following the audit, will be to determine the purpose of this entity. He believes that grain exports are more profitable for private companies.
Let us recall that from 1999 to 2005, Yaroslav Krasnopolsky combined work as the head of a structural division of the agroholding "Rise" with the management of several business companies.
From 2006 to 2015, Krasnopolsky headed the marketing department of Nutritech-Ukraine, a mineral fertilizer distributor. Krasnopolsky is also associated with GeoAgro-Consult, a company providing consulting services to improve crop production efficiency.
On January 15, 2015, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agrarian Industry and Food.
As Serhiy Feofilov, CEO of Ukragroconsult, describes the current head of the State Food and Grain Company of Ukraine, Yaroslav Krasnopolsky has extensive experience in the Ukrainian agricultural market. He served for a long time as the head of the company Raiz. It was during Krasnopolsky's tenure that the company flourished.
