On August 26, PJSC Centrenergo will open bids for a tender for the supply of a block transformer worth 15 million hryvnias, according to the State Procurement Bulletin.
It's intended for the Zmievskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Kharkiv region. The customer has set a 30-day deadline for delivery of the finished product, with the option of early delivery. This means only companies that already have a ready-made transformer will participate. Otherwise, manufacturing will take several months.
It's worth noting that this is the second time Centrenergo has set such conditions. Initially, on July 26, they made similar demands, which resulted in only one company, SVEL-Ukraine LLC, being selected for the tender. This led to the cancellation of the bidding.
Another factor was that the company was Russian and offered the transformer at a price of 14,44 million hryvnias. Had the tender not been cancelled, the transformer would have been installed at the TPP by the end of August. However, as it is, it should be installed by the end of October at the earliest, as the participation of foreign manufacturers requires a much longer timeframe.
It is noted that such deadlines are discriminatory and an attempt to exclude foreign companies from participating.
