The Grin couple is developing lands on the territory of a national reserve.

The Mutvitske tract, a unique national wildlife refuge, is slowly being seized by local authorities. For example, Galina Grin, the wife of the deputy head of the Kyiv Department of Forestry and Hunting (Vasyl Grin), has received 11,400 hectares of land (along with the 785-hectare wildlife refuge) for the construction of a hunting reserve. Ms. Grin is a co-founder of the Fortuna Hunting and Fishing Club, which is the owner of the transferred lands. This is reported. Our pennies.

The high-ranking husband himself attributes his wife's interest in the hunting grounds not to any passion for shooting wild animals; on the contrary, he states that she truly loves nature and animals. However, signs are posted everywhere in the Fortuna-controlled area stating that hunting is strictly prohibited. Are exceptions made for owners? It's difficult to say, as gunshots are extremely rare in this area, and local gamekeepers explain this solely by operational and sanitary requirements (predator control, population control, etc.).

Fedir Ryzhuk, head of the Makarovsky Forestry Enterprise, also asserts that the Law of Ukraine "On the Natural Reserve Fund of Ukraine" is strictly observed, and hunting is prohibited within the protected area. Incidentally, there is no visible boundary between the reserve's territory and other lands: no concrete fences, barbed wire, or other security structures. The owners also allow local residents and visitors to move within the reserve: mushroom and berry picking, swimming in forest ponds, and paid fishing are permitted.

But the reserve's lands can hardly be called public property: land privatization is in full swing here. For example, the Grin couple and 14 others grabbed two hectares "for gardening" as part of the Berezka gardening cooperative. Among the latter were the wife and son of the former head of the State Forestry Committee of Ukraine (Viktor Chervonyi), Svitlana Chervona and Andriy Chervonyi.

A certain enterprise, MRK Zubr, was also created, among whose founders are the aforementioned Fortuna of the Greeney couple and Valeriy Tsybulko, head of the Kyiv Regional Forestry and Hunting Department. In 2004, 12,300 hectares of hunting grounds in the Kyiv region were transferred to it. It's not surprising that local residents are concerned about this state of affairs: after all, by law, distributing natural resources to private individuals is strictly prohibited. However, those in power are completely uninterested in the public's opinion.
