According to a press release from the prosecutor's office, Kyiv prosecutors, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, exposed Viktoria Zhesan, director of the National Commission's Department for the Development of Financial Services Markets for International Cooperation, who extorted a bribe of 60 hryvnias from an insurance company representative.
For this amount, Victoria Zhesan promised to issue a license for civil liability insurance for private notaries and coordinate their insurance rules.
On the street, near her workplace, the official was handed the first installment of 40 hryvnias. Law enforcement officers detained Viktoria Zhesan while receiving the money.
The National Commission is currently considering whether to impose a preventive measure on Viktoria Zhesan and remove her from office. Investigative actions are ongoing.
