Daniil Getmantsev is harassing businesses again.
On October 15, the head of the Verkhovna Rada's Finance Committee, Daniil Getmantsev, announced that he would collect 4% taxes from grain exporters, reports TG channel Irochka:
Irochka already wrote about how Getmantsev tried to organize a racket at the state level with his idea of collecting 4% through the prosecutor's office, tax authorities, customs, and the State Security Service.
By the way, the security forces themselves don’t like this idea at all, since everyone understands that it’s illegal.
But no matter how hard Getmantsev tries to force businesses to take over, the reality is that he can't collect more than 2%. And the attempt to "fill the budget" backfired.
The "improvements" have led to exporters finding it significantly more profitable to pay 2% through a sole proprietorship. They can receive the money in cash, somewhere in Egypt or the Emirates. And then close down the sole proprietorship. This is how the shadow economy has been operating for many years. But the legal business will suffer greatly.
To put it simply.
Those who officially operate receive their profits through VAT refunds. They must wait for their refund. This is where the tax authorities come into play. The tax authorities' fee for the VAT refund procedure ranges from 8-20% of the refund amount. And this not only delays the process, but also openly begins to "harass" businesses, driving companies into "risky" situations.
So it turns out that Getmantsev's attempt to bring business out of the shadows has effectively turned into state racketeering.
