The corruption case against Yevhen Getman, a member of the gambling regulation commission, has gone to court.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has completed its investigation into a criminal case against former member of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, Yevhen Hetman, who is suspected of accepting a $90 bribe. This was reported by 368.media, citing the NABU.
The NABU and SAP opened the investigative materials to the defense for review before sending the indictment to court. The official's actions were classified under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code.
As a reminder, according to investigators, Yevhen Getman, a member of the Gambling Commission, demanded and accepted a $90 bribe from a supposed representative of a private entrepreneur in exchange for the Commission making a decision in his favor. The decision concerned recognizing two hotels in Chernihiv and Zaporizhzhia as legally permitted to organize and conduct gambling.
According to Getman, he controls the apparatus of KRAIL and has already established cooperation and reached agreements with other members of KRAIL, with whom he has built cooperation on a commercial basis and provided each of them with an illegal benefit in the amount of $1000 from his personal funds.
The Anti-Corruption Court remanded Hetman in custody with the option of 5 million hryvnias in bail. This amount was posted for the suspect, and he was released from pretrial detention. Following his arrest, Hetman was dismissed from his post in December 2021.
