Today, parliamentarians amended the Ukrainian budget and raised their salaries. As former Batkivshchyna MP Andriy Pavlovsky reported on his Facebook page: "Part 4 of paragraph 7 of the Transitional Provisions regarding the maximum salary limit for parliamentarians and members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has been removed. The official salary is now limited to 10 minimum wages—12,180 UAH—and the official salary is now limited to 5,600 UAH. As a result, the Verkhovna Rada's expenditures during the revisions have increased by 202 million UAH, or 38,5%," Pavlovsky noted.

As a reminder, Ukraine's budget was adopted on the night of December 28-29. After a multi-hour session, the Verkhovna Rada approved the 2015 budget. What the deputies voted for remained a mystery to the deputies themselves—many amendments were made to the document during the session, and ultimately, many deputies were unclear about what exactly was included in the country's main financial document. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk promised at the time that the adopted state budget would be reviewed by February 15. Today, one of the "revisions" to the country's budget was an increase in the maximum salary for members of parliament to 10 times the minimum wage. Previously, it was seven times the minimum wage.
