President of the European Business Association and CEO of investment company Dragon Capital Tomas Fiala Der Spiegel reported that Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Petro Poroshenko traded seats in parliament.
According to Fiala, the cost of a parliamentary seat ranges from $3 million to $10 million, with businessmen paying the majority of the fees, although war heroes and activists also topped the list. He also noted that this was an investment by businessmen in their future, allowing them to lobby for their interests.
Fiala also claimed that Yatsenyuk lacked funds for his election campaign, and Poroshenko didn't provide any. When asked for evidence, the head of the EBA stated that this was discussed behind the scenes, but if the Prosecutor General's Office hadn't been dependent on politicians, the investigation would have been straightforward.
