Vitali Klitschko proposed the candidacy of Georgy Zubko.

Strana has obtained a document according to which Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko proposes appointing Heorhiy Zubko, head of the Odessa Regional Administration's transportation department, to the post of Head of the Desnyansky District State Administration of Kyiv.

According to the 29-year-old official's official biography, he is a PhD candidate, an associate professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and a volunteer with nine years of experience in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and as a deputy department director at Kyivmiskbud, the capital's largest construction holding company.

According to Strana, Georgy is the son of former Socialist Party MP Yuriy Zubko. His mother, Irina Yuryevna, is a teacher at Kyiv School No. 1. Friends call him simply Gosha.

In 2012, Gosha Zubko participated in the reality show "Ka$ta" on the Tet TV channel, where he played himself, a member of the "golden youth." After the show aired, the eligible bachelor admitted that he was constantly swarmed by female fans.

In 2014, Zubko attempted to win the Kyiv City Council election in a single-member constituency in the Solomyansky district by creating his own charitable foundation. But he lost.

That same year, he founded the CAPS school of public administration, inviting a dozen Georgian politicians to work on the project. In the summer of 2015, rumors circulated that Zubko would head the Kyiv patrol police department (which immediately sparked a major scandal), but instead, he left for Odesa to work on transport reforms.

The politician's income declaration doesn't quite jibe with his lifestyle. In 2014, he earned 250,000 hryvnias, 11,000 of which came from teaching. The celebrity bachelor owns two apartments (98 and 44 square meters), two cars—a 2010 Volkswagen Transporter and a 2007 Mazda 3—as well as a 2013 Italian Moto Guzzi V7 Racer.

The young politician has about 1,5 million hryvnias in his bank accounts.

"Strana" contacted Georgy Zubko himself with a request to comment on the possible appointment; at the time of publication, he had not responded.
