Kruglov's daughter, millionaire judge Elena Mamontova, was not included on the "lustration" list. The Supreme Commercial Court has so far decided to "sacrifice" only court secretaries.
The Supreme Commercial Court of Ukraine, in compliance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Purification of Government," appears to have no intention of investigating any of the millionaire judges who have recently appeared in the media. Instead, only administrative employees—court secretaries—may be subject to "lustration."
This conclusion can be drawn by looking at the relevant information on the official website of the Supreme Commercial Court of Ukraine.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that at least five judges of the Supreme Commercial Court, which resolves business disputes, were officially millionaires.
Thus, this court consists of four judicial chambers: the First Judicial Chamber has 26 judges, the Second Judicial Chamber has 25 judges, the Third Judicial Chamber has 16 judges, and the Fourth Judicial Chamber has 34 judges.
Despite this, the website reports that an investigation, as stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On the Purification of Government," has been launched against only three individuals: court secretaries Oleksandr Bakulin, Ekaterina Kolomiets, and Karina Shipulina.
It is noteworthy that not a single millionaire judge from this court, who has recently appeared in the media, is on the list for "lustration."
It's worth noting that among these millionaire judges is the daughter of former Governor Kruglov, who gave Mezhyhirya to Yanukovych, and who, on top of everything else, also happens to be a millionaire with four apartments.
As a reminder, in January 2010, Mamontova, as part of a panel of judges, ruled that the Mezhyhirya residence belonged to Viktor Yanukovych's companies. Following this, the president appointed the judge's father, Mykola Kruglov, as governor of the Mykolaiv region.
However, following the events on the Maidan in early April of this year, the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office established the illegality of the privatization of the Mezhyhirya residence by former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, and on June 25, the court returned the Mezhyhirya lands to state ownership. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine planned to summon Mamontova for questioning in this case. Meanwhile, activists demanded the resignation and punishment of the judges involved in the privatization of Mezhyhirya.
