The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office is planning to charge former NAU Vice-Rector Maksym Lutskyi with fraud. Lutskyi is suspected of siphoning Terra Bank funds from the financial institution to finance several companies he owns. This was revealed during the investigation into the arrest of Serhiy Klymenko, head of Terra Bank's supervisory board.
The Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced the latter to two months' arrest as part of a criminal investigation into the embezzlement of Terra Bank depositors' funds.
It is known that a series of searches are currently underway in Kyiv related to the investigation into the deliberate bankruptcy of Terra Bank. The investigation was initiated by Terra Bank's temporary administrator, the Deposit Guarantee Fund, into the activities of the bankrupt bank's managers. The investigation established that funds from the financial institution were siphoned off to several companies directly or indirectly owned by the bank's owner and former Vice-Rector of the National Agrarian University of Ukraine, Maksym Lutskyi.
As a reminder, on August 21, 2015, Serhiy Kvit dismissed Maksym Lutskyi from his position as First Vice-Rector of the National Aviation University. The NBU initiated the liquidation of Terra Bank in late 2014.
