Former employees of the State Food and Agriculture Organization of Ukraine will face trial.

wheat moneyThe Prosecutor General's Office has filed an indictment against former employees of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU), who are accused of embezzling over 19 million hryvnias in state funds. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office press service.

It is known that these officials colluded with an entrepreneur from the Cherkasy region and caused damage to the state in excess of 19 million hryvnias.

The actions of the former employees of the State Food and Agriculture Organization of Ukraine are qualified under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Previously, media reports indicated that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was investigating a criminal case involving an agricultural producer from the Cherkasy region. In 2014, he signed a contract with a grain operator. Subsequently, the entrepreneur received just over 19 million hryvnias for the purchase of grain from the upcoming harvest. However, the deal fell through, and the funds were never returned.
