Petro Melnyk, former rector of the National University of Irpen Tax Academy, illegally sold a sanatorium building and the premises of the university's branches to his son's company. This was reported by Nashi Groshi, citing a ruling by Kyiv's Pechersky District Court dated December 7, 2015.
It is known that in 2007-2008, on the orders of Rector Melnyk, building complexes in the urban-type settlements of Vorzel, Simferopol, and Kamianets-Podilskyi were sold. At that time, the market price of the buildings was 20,64 million hryvnias. However, these premises were sold for 10,87 million hryvnias without the approval of the State Property Fund of Ukraine and without following the special procedure required by law.
Petr Melnik sold the Sosnovy Bor rehabilitation and health complex, located at 3 Kirov Street in the Vorzel urban-type settlement, with a total area of 7870 square meters, citing its remoteness and the impossibility of maintaining the building.
The Tax Academy's branch premises in Simferopol, covering 2683 square meters, and in Kamianets-Podilskyi, covering 1109 square meters, were sold due to inefficient use of the buildings and high maintenance costs.
The buyer of the buildings is Interregional Financial and Legal Academy LLC. The company is currently known as Irpen Financial and Legal Academy LLC. Its founder is listed as Volodymyr Shcherban from Kyiv. Previously, the company's founder was listed as Petro Melnyk's son, Maksym Melnyk. Since August 2015, the former rector's nephew, Roman Melnyk, has served as the company's director.
As a reminder, Petro Melnyk was caught accepting a bribe. The Prosecutor General's Office accuses the former rector of embezzling 1,6 million hryvnias in budget funds. Melnyk is currently under travel restrictions.
