Volodymyr Reznik, a recently dismissed adviser to Odesa Oblast Governor Mikheil Saakashvili, does not own his own home, but owns a new Volkswagen Passat worth 422 hryvnias. This information was reported by media outlets, citing the adviser's 2014 income declaration.
The declaration also indicates that the former official earned only 314 hryvnias in profit in 2014. Of this, 92 hryvnias came from entrepreneurial activity. Another 74 hryvnias came from "other income." The former official's wife and son earned 113,6 hryvnias in profit during the same period.
It is also known that neither Reznik nor any member of his family owns real estate. However, his income declaration indicates that the former Saakashvili adviser purchased a Volkswagen Passat in 2014. As of 2014, its retail price was approximately 422 hryvnias.
As a reminder, on January 11, Mikheil Saakashvili publicly accused his adviser of corruption and fired him amid controversy. However, as of today, the order for Reznik's dismissal has not yet been published.
Reznik had previously been implicated in a scandal surrounding the construction of a hospital in Reni. Law enforcement officials suspected Reznik of receiving a 1,45 million hryvnia kickback and even conducted a search of his residence.
