It is known that Mykola Gerasimyuk purchased an elite estate on Lake Como in Italy, one of Europe's most expensive resorts. The purchase cost the former Deputy Prosecutor General €12,5 million. The Mir newspaper reports that if Mr. Gerasimyuk fails to find employment in Ukraine, and he is aiming for the position of head of the State Fiscal Service, he plans to purchase a hotel in Croatia and run a resort business there.

According to media reports, Nikolai Gerasimyuk is involved in corruption schemes and a desire to profit from the hostile takeover of one of Ukraine's largest agricultural holdings, along with another controversial deputy of Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema, Anatoliy Danilenko.
