Which MPs buy the most expensive cars: their fleet includes luxury Audis, BMWs, and Land Cruisers

In 2025, Ukrainian MPs acquired more than 20 cars worth a total of approximately 40 million hryvnias. The most expensive was a 2025 Audi Q8, costing 5,015 million hryvnias. So, here are the luxury cars of our MPs.

Serhiy Magera, MP, Opposition Platform – For Life, Audi Q8, luxury cars

The cheapest is a 2019 Ford Focus at 403,9 UAH. The average bill exceeded 1,5 million UAH—that's equivalent to covering three tax collections. OBOZ.UA for the 4th separate heavy mechanized brigade on a pickup truck.

Remarkably, all the cars purchased by the MPs were unique—no two models were the same. Just like snowflakes. And the most popular brand was Mercedes-Benz—six of them were purchased.

OBOZ.UA analyzed the declarations of elected officials and found out who spent the most on their fleet of vehicles and whether their legal income would have been sufficient. It also revealed which of the powerful car enthusiasts figured in investigations into large-scale corruption in the energy sector, and which purchased their cars through a bizarre scheme.

Luxury cars, 21 million hryvnias in the bank, and a Lanos in the garage

The most expensive car purchased by a member of parliament in 2025 was a 2025 Audi Q8 for 5,015 million hryvnias. It was purchased by Serhiy Magera, a former independent member of the banned Opposition Bloc. He bought the car in April, but similar cars are now available for less in showrooms—for as little as 3,335 million hryvnias and as much as 4,546 million hryvnias. Therefore, from today's perspective, the MP overpaid, and considerably.

Serhiy Magera, MP, Opposition Platform - For Life, 2025 Audi Q8, luxury cars

Serhiy Magera bought the most expensive car among MPs.

Magera bought this car from Porsche Inter Auto Ukraine, which had previously become known for selling a minibus to the Kyiv Oblast Road Service at a non-competitive auction—because, according to The media, "open bidding was cancelled twice due to a lack of participants."

In 2018, the MP declared a salary of UAH 95 per month (or UAH 1,1 million per year) at the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works (he held the position of Director of Regional Development). A year earlier, the future MP's average monthly salary was UAH 87,9. By 2019, when Magera resigned and joined the Verkhovna Rada, his annual salary was UAH 32,7 million (he likely received compensation payments).

The MP loves cars, however. In his 2024 annual declaration, he included the following:

  • 2019 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG for 1,6 million UAH, which was obviously subsequently sold out for 1,8 million UAH;
  • a 2023 BMW X3 registered to his wife for 2,69 million UAH;
  • ZAZ-DAEWOO LANOS 2006, which the same wife temporarily uses by “verbal agreement”.

Overall, in 2024, Magera declared, among other things, UAH 3,1 million in income from FUIB (in the form of interest), UAH 697 in salary, and almost UAH 238 in pension (a substantial almost UAH 20 per month). He also has almost UAH 21 million in his account at FUIB. Therefore, he has ample opportunity to further expand his fleet.

The most elite cars of MPs

Other MPs purchased less expensive cars, but only compared to Magera's 5 million-hryvnia Audi. Specifically, four MPs declared purchases of cars worth more than 2,5 million hryvnias.

Musa Magomedov — a BMW for 2,8 million hryvnias

This MP was nominated by the Opposition Bloc, but currently does not belong to any faction.

In February 2025, he spent 2,8 million hryvnias on a 2021 BMW 7 Series M760Li. Similar cars sell for around 3 million hryvnias on car dealership sites. He's been using this car since 2024—he noted in his annual income tax return that he leased it. He probably liked it.

Magomedov's wife owns a 2020 Porsche Panamera. The car was purchased for 3,4 million hryvnias.

In addition to their fleet of vehicles, the Magomedovs own a boat worth 230 hryvnias, 12 properties, and a watch collection.

Magomedov declared, among other assets, €259 and UAH 2,95 million in cash. He also registered €50,28 in cash in his wife's name.

Maxim Pavlyuk - Volkswagen for UAH 2,7 million

At the end of 2025, Servant of the People MP Maksym Pavlyuk purchased a 2025 Volkswagen Touareg Silver for 2,7 million hryvnias. Currently, a similar car ex-showroom costs at least 2,952 million hryvnias. Saved money is earned money.

According to his income declaration, he earned the money for the car by selling movable property for 2,28 million hryvnias. However, he sold it in a rather odd way:

  • According to the declaration, on November 28, Pavlyuk received 2,28 million from the company Karpatyavtotsentr.
  • On the same day, he bought a car for 2,7 million hryvnias from the same Karpatyavtotsentr.

So, in fact, the "servant of the people" paid approximately 420 hryvnias for the car. He also gave away unspecified movable property.

Overall, the MP earned quite a bit of money in 2024, including a salary of 824 hryvnias, as well as 4,67 million hryvnias from the sale of real estate. He also keeps $330 and 200 hryvnias in cash.

Mikhail Sokolov — Toyota Land Cruiser for UAH 2,66 million

On communication According to significant changes in his property status, on June 21, 2025, this Batkivshchyna MP acquired ownership of a new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The parliamentarian paid over 2,66 million hryvnias for the car.

One of them concerns Procurement In 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine's Odessa Oblast Directorate commissioned Toyota vehicles. The tender was held in an open bidding format with some peculiarities, as analysts explained at the time:

  • Provided for significantly shorter procedure times.
  • It made it possible to make a purchase without holding an auction.

Almaz Motor LTD was the sole bidder in the tender. And the winner, receiving UAH 2,995,682. The expected purchase price was also the same. Therefore, it can be assumed that Almaz Motor LTD adjusted its prices to suit the tender, or the customer adjusted them to suit the sole bidder, or divine providence intervened, and the customer and the company formed a perfect match.

Sokolov, as already noted, paid more than 2,66 million hryvnias for his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Now it can be acquire starting at 2,413 million. It turns out I overpaid a little.

According to Sokolov's declared income in 2024, he earned UAH 2,402 million. This amount consists of:
