Energoatom is suing over previously purchased low-quality equipment.

energoatomOn March 5, 2015, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, a separate enterprise of NNEGC Energoatom, filed a lawsuit against CEPT LLC for the supply of defective products that could not be used for their intended purpose. Interestingly, CEPT LLC supplied this equipment to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant back in 2007. This was reported by the publication Nashi Groshi, citing several decisions of the Kherson Regional Commercial Court.

It is known that in 2007, Zaporizhzhia NPP ordered products from the company "CEPT," the quality of which was supposed to be confirmed by a quality certificate from the manufacturer. During the pre-trial investigation, the SBU established that the equipment sold had counterfeit quality certificates that had not been verified by the State Nuclear Regulatory Committee of Ukraine, and the manufacturer did not confirm these quality certificates.

Following the investigation, a criminal case was opened regarding the company's embezzlement of UAH 7,1 million from Zaporizhzhia NPP. The director of the supplier company was charged with official negligence, which resulted in serious consequences for Zaporizhzhia NPP, totaling UAH 2,95 million. Zaporizhzhia NPP officials were not held accountable, as the theory of intentional embezzlement was not confirmed.

Subsequently, ZNPP challenged a number of contracts totaling over UAH 2 million. For all of the agreements, the court ordered CEPT LLC to recover the funds received from ZNPP.

The company "CEPT" is registered in Kherson to Ion Chebotar. Previously, the company was called "Naftobudservis" LLC and was registered in Dnipropetrovsk to its owners, Lyubov Kopylova and Sergey Litvinenko. The court found the latter guilty of official negligence.

It is known that the company Naftobudservis concluded contracts with Energoatom for 11,93 million UAH from 2008 to 2009.

As a reminder, in September and December 2014, searches were conducted at Energoatom's directorate, as well as at its separate divisions, Atomremontservis, Atom Komplekt, and the Scientific and Technical Center. A search was also conducted at the apartment of Energoatom's chief accountant and company president, Yuri Nedashkovsky.
