In 2004, businessman Lev Pertskhaladze founded the "European Capital" party, which the press called an unprecedentedly expensive and pompous project. But despite millions in investments, the political bloc failed to secure seats in the Kyiv City Council elections. And in 2006, it also failed to gain seats in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Among the party's top five was Andriy Lirnyk, director of L-Contract LLC.
Andriy Lirnyk's name has surfaced in the press more than once. The last time was in March 2014, after the change of power. "Ukraine Criminal" wrote an entire article about the pharmaceutical mafia trying to establish contacts with the new Minister of Health. All the people mentioned in the article managed to work under any government and win tenders for the procurement of drugs. Under Yanukovych, they all worked with Bogatyreva. The article also mentions Andriy Lirnyk. Lirnyk worked with Petro Bagriy, whose Ganza group purchased the infamous Tamiflu in 2009 for 251 hryvnias per package, compared to a market price of 67 hryvnias. In 2008, Ganza, represented by Pharmaceuticals of the Regions and Andriy Lirnyk, was declared the winner of a tender for the supply of Capreomycin, a drug funded by the state, totaling over 11,4 million hryvnias at a price of 119,7 hryvnias per bottle. This price was approximately 20 times higher than the average. Lirnyk, Pharmaceuticals of the Regions, and Starvice Pharm LLC consistently won multimillion-dollar tenders for the supply of anti-tuberculosis drugs.
According to parliamentarians, anti-tuberculosis drugs supplied by companies controlled by Bagriy and Lirnik were 2-3 times higher than world prices.
And now we meet Andriy Lyrnyk's son, Gleb, who's already making headlines. He's helping paint Vasylkiv blue and yellow, commissioning billboards, and apparently paying for media coverage. And all because he's running for the Verkhovna Rada in District 94 (Vasylkiv) as a member of... the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.
There's no doubt that Gleb is the son of Andrey Vilenovich Lirnik. The elder Lirnik himself mentioned this in his biography when he ran for election with the "European Capital" party. Gleb Lirnik is also the owner of the Kyiv nightclub "D'lux."
Indeed, Poroshenko's promise of a new way of life is coming true. True, only for the privileged.
