The Deposit Guarantee Fund is unable to pay out funds to depositors of the bank of former Party of Regions member Oleksandr Efremov, PJSC Ukrkomunbank.
At a meeting on September 22, the Deposit Guarantee Fund decided that payments to depositors of PJSC Ukrkomunbank would be made only after the liquidation of this financial institution had been resolved. This decision was based on a letter to the Deposit Guarantee Fund from the authorized person responsible for the liquidation of Yefremov's bank.
It is known that the head office of PJSC Ukrkomunbank is located in the temporarily occupied city of Luhansk. As of September 14 of this year, the location of this financial institution's accounting documents, technical equipment, and servers has not been determined. Therefore, it is currently impossible to compile a list of depositors eligible for reimbursement from the Deposit Guarantee Fund.
PJSC Ukrkomunbank (Ukrainian Communal Bank) was declared insolvent on May 13, 2015. On September 14, 2015, the NBU decided to liquidate this financial institution. As of January 1, 2014, Ukrkomunbank's shareholders included Novostroy, Oranta-Lugan, and the TermoSK plant. These companies are part of the American holding company TBM Holding, owned by Oleksandr Yefremov.
