On September 29, 2015, the Solomyansky District Court of Kyiv opened proceedings against the companies of Rinat Akhmetov and Anton Prygodskyi. The case alleges that the businessmen's companies stole over 10 freight cars from the state and siphoned off hundreds of millions of hryvnias from the state budget. The court's ruling is posted on the Unified Register of Court Cases (URSC).
The State Fiscal Service is investigating Ukratransleasing, a company linked to the Yanukovych-era cabinet, as well as former leadership of the State Property Fund, the Ministry of Transport, and Ukrzaliznytsia. As a result of abuse of office, more than 10 freight cars disappeared from the state fleet, and 220 million hryvnias were stolen from the state budget.
It is known that Ukratransleasing was established by the Ukrainian government in the late 90s to provide leasing services to Ukrainian rail and air transport organizations. By decision of the Yanukovych government in 2003, the company's capital was increased to 1,321 billion hryvnias, and it was later divided between the companies of Ukrainian businessmen: Rinat Akhmetov's Lemtrans, as well as Embrol-Engineering and Interregional Industrial Union, controlled by Anton Prygodskyi.
However, during the investigation, it was revealed that after Viktor Yanukovych's flight, Ukrtransleasing paid the state only 10% of the sale price of its securities and the issue, and that the reduction of the state's share in Ukrtransleasing's authorized capital was carried out illegally at the instigation of State Property Fund officials.
