Former MP Yegor Firsov reported that his lawsuit against the BPP and the Central Election Commission has been ongoing for two months. The lawsuit concerns the illegal termination of his parliamentary powers.
According to the former MP, only one hearing took place in two months, lasting less than an hour. At the court hearing, representatives of the BPP filed a motion to dismiss the proceedings. They argued that the termination of Firsov's parliamentary powers was an internal party matter. The court then took two weeks to consider these claims.
Firsov noted that he doesn't have high hopes for justice, so at the second hearing, which will take place on May 16, "I am summoning former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko to court as witnesses," Firsov stated.
According to the former parliamentarian, Mr. Groysman, while Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, violated the Rules of Procedure and, when announcing his resignation from Firsov's BPP faction, failed to read out the relevant statement. Therefore, the former MP proposes that Groysman state the reasons for this action under oath.
Regarding Klitschko, a video published in the media shows how, at the BPP-Solidarity party congress, when the question of stripping Tomenko and Firsov of their mandates was being considered, a minority of those present voted by show of hands, and the chair announced a nearly unanimous result. Furthermore, Firsov stated that he has still not been provided with the documented decision to strip him of his mandate.
"We have a good relationship with Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Vladimirovich Klitschko, so he won't lie and will tell the whole truth about that shameful congress," Firsov concluded.
