Forbes secured the unblocking of a domain closed due to Kurchenko.

forbesThe American publishing house Forbes was not notified about the unblocking of the domain name forbes.ua.

According to Mia Carbonell, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Forbes in the US, the companies did not disclose the court's decision or the trial that led to the domain's unblocking.

On January 15, the Ukrainian Media Holding (UMH), the Ukrainian publisher of Forbes, succeeded in obtaining permission to unblock the name and move the magazine's online version to this platform. The defendant was the Ukrainian domain registrar Imena.ua.

Meanwhile, the US stated that it had not yet heard the matter in court. The New York arbitration court plans to take up the matter no earlier than February 1.

As a reminder, domain issues arose after the US imposed sanctions against UMH owner Serhiy Kurchenko. At that time, the Forbes TM domain was blocked. The publication moved to a temporary domain, forbes.net.ua, and management initiated legal proceedings, as the domain name lease had been paid until the end of 2018.
