As the UE Citing his source, Prosecutor General's Office head Vitaly Yarema wants to appoint Vladimir Orlov as head of the department for procedural guidance in investigatory proceedings at the central office of the Prosecutor General's Office.
If the appointment goes through, it would violate the lustration law. According to the Law "On the Purification of Government," specifically Part 3 of Article 1: "This law applies to individuals who held, for a combined period of at least one year, the position(s) of the central executive body responsible for the formation and implementation of state tax and/or customs policy between February 25, 2010 and February 22, 2014."
Since 2010, Vladimir Orlov was the first deputy head of the Sumy Customs Office, and later headed the Sumy and Luhansk Customs Offices. According to sources in Ukrainska Pravda, Orlov was close to former Minister Klymenko, who fled Ukraine.
