Arsen Avakov
Arsen Avakov, who heads the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, has been renting a room at the Kyiv Hotel Complex (owned by the Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine) since 2016. This was reported Ukrainian news.
The minister's room is 77,6 square meters (equivalent to a two-room suite). The hotel itself is located near the Verkhovna Rada building on Grushevsky Street, and the department headed by Avakov is also within walking distance.
"If rented daily for such a room, it would cost Avakov approximately 3,900 hryvnias per day, or more than 1,4 million hryvnias per year, which is twice the minister's annual salary for 2020. However, a long-term lease could be significantly less.
Arsen Avakov and his family members did not declare any other residential properties they own or rent in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
According to his income declaration, Avakov owns two apartments in Kharkiv (658 and 70 square meters), as well as an apartment and 24 hundred square meters of land in the Kharkiv region," the publication writes.
It was previously reported that Avakov's office was unable to provide an answer as to how much service housing was issued in 2020.
