nailThe head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, Viktor Gvozd, built a luxurious estate near Kyiv. The official received 0,7 hectares of land for farming. In 2009, the land's intended use was changed to the construction and maintenance of a residential building. Currently, four houses have been built on the property: the largest structure measures 634 square meters. Another building resembles an indoor swimming pool. The property also includes two gazebos, a soccer field, exercise equipment, and a playground, according to the publication "Nashi Groshi."

According to documentation, the estate was fully completed in 2013. However, the official's neighbors claim that construction was only completed in 2015, and, most interestingly, the most active work took place after Gvozd's appointment as head of Ukraine's foreign intelligence service, which occurred in early 2014.

It is reported that while media representatives were filming the Gvozd family estate, the official's wife approached them, calling the filming unethical and threatening to unleash a dog on the journalists if they didn't stop. Gvozd's wife reported that her husband was in the hospital and promised that he would definitely speak to journalists after his recovery. However, the conversation never took place.

Later, journalists visited the foreign intelligence chief's elite estate again, but a man introduced himself as Viktor, the head of security, approached them. The man warned the journalists that they were not allowed to rent the estate and advised them to contact the press service of the agency headed by Gvozd. The press service, in turn, provided an official response to the journalists stating that Viktor Gvozd did indeed own land and an estate, and that it was listed in his income declaration. According to the journalists, the official most likely earned the money for the construction of the mansion during his time in the diplomatic service 15-20 years ago.

Viktor Gvozd participated in UN peacekeeping operations in the Balkans from 1993 to 1995. He then served as Defense Attaché at the Ukrainian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia until 1999. From 2000 to 2003, he served as the Ministry of Defense Representative to the UN and as a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the UN Security Council.
