Roman Nasirov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Tax Committee, has been appointed Head of the State Fiscal Service. The Cabinet of Ministers also appointed Serhiy Belan and Kostiantyn Likarchuk as Deputy Heads of the State Fiscal Service. This was announced in a press release from the Cabinet of Ministers' press service.
Previously, the Ministry of Finance proposed candidates for the post of head of the State Fiscal Service to the Cabinet of Ministers: former CFO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Andriy Kolomiets and head of the Verkhovna Rada Tax Committee Roman Nasirov.
Before Roman Nasirov was elected to the Verkhovna Rada, he worked at Ukrnafta, Renaissance Capital, Cantor Fitzgerald/BGC and Concorde Capital.
Roman Nasirov is closely associated with Ihor Mazepa, who ran for election as a candidate for Serhiy Tihipko's Strong Ukraine party. Mr. Nasirov is also known to have served as deputy chairman of the board of the State Food and Grain Corporation. However, on April 25, 2014, he was dismissed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy without explanation.
As a reminder, on April 28, MP Oksana Prodan stated on her Facebook page that the competition for the post of head of the State Fiscal Service, in which she participated, was conducted with clear violations. She believes that Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has a direct stake in the lack of transparency in the competition.
