At a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, BPP MP Serhiy Leshchenko announced that the Prosecutor General's Office (GPU) intends to charge GPU investigator Serhiy Gorbatyuk with suspicion and remove him from the investigation of Maidan protesters.
The MP noted that, according to his information, they plan to initiate criminal proceedings against Gorbatyuk for "official negligence" and transfer him to work in another region.
Leshchenko emphasized that the Prosecutor General's Office (GPU) leadership is using a false pretext to remove Gorbatyuk from the Maidan investigation. Previously, due to this pressure from senior security officials, Ihor Slobodjanik, a key member of the GPU's special investigations department, was dismissed.
Leshchenko reported that, according to his information, this is systemic pressure on investigators from the Prosecutor General's Office, who are "diligently investigating the Maidan case and the sanctions list case, and Mr. Stolyarchuk is behind it."
