Gordon dismissed rumors that he could be charged with treason as "Russian narratives."
Journalist and TV presenter Dmitry Gordon commented on the information that he may soon be charged with treason, reports Country.
"I have information that many of the people spreading such rumors are schizophrenics and mentally ill. And I have information that there are a lot of Russian agents in our country spreading Russian narratives. That's the only information I have," Dmitry Gordon told Strana.
Dmitry Gordon also responded to the fact that information regarding suspicions of treason began appearing in Telegram channels close to the Presidential Office.
"I find it hard to understand who's affiliated with whom, but I find it funny and I laugh out loud. What are Telegram channels? They're completely meaningless. I don't even know how to perceive stupidity, especially Russian stupidity. I'm the only person in Ukraine, in the 30 years of independence—I'll soon be 31—against whom Russia has applied an unprecedented range of measures: criminal charges under three or four articles, inclusion in the register of terrorists and extremists, a wanted list, and finally, arrest in absentia. So when I hear someone say something like that, I laugh out loud. Greetings to everyone," Gordon noted.
In addition, Dmitry Gordon stated his position on the information regarding the investigation into the treason case against the former head of the SBU. Igor Smeshko.
"I don't have such information. I believe it's fake. Igor Petrovich Smeshko is a man who has spent his entire life close to American and European intelligence agencies. And his relationship to Russia is like a pig's relationship to an orange," said Dmitry Gordon.
As a reminder, at the end of July, a Moscow court arrested Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon in absentia on charges of "disseminating fake news about the Russian army, extremism, and calls for aggressive war."
Strana also reported that Dmitry Gordon was added to the Russian register of “terrorists and extremists.”
