While the SBU was investigating the crimes of the former head of the Antonov State Enterprise, he committed a new one. This is Sergey Bychkov. There's no mention of those responsible for his appointment.
The Security Service of Ukraine has revealed details of the investigation into the criminal case initiated in connection with the destruction of the An-225 Mriya, writes Argument.
It is reported SBU, whose representatives had previously surrendered Crimea, Donbass (mass state betrayal and defection to the enemy) and Kherson.
The SBU is establishing all the circumstances of the plane's destruction, in particular why the management of the Antonov state enterprise failed to take all necessary measures to preserve it.
Together with representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, SBU officers conducted a series of searches as part of the criminal proceedings.
"The investigation established that officials, despite the government's warnings, failed to take adequate measures to preserve the aircraft. Furthermore, individual company employees obstructed the Defense Forces' efforts to organize air and ground security at the airfield for a long time. All of this led to the destruction of the An-225 and several other aircraft," the SBU noted.
Law enforcement officials are examining additional details of the case and conducting the necessary examinations, after which further procedural decisions will be made.
At the same time, while identifying those guilty of subversive activities against Ukraine, other crimes were revealed.
In particular, the former general director of the Antonov State Enterprise was exposed for organizing the illegal transfer of Ukrainians of draft age abroad.
According to the investigation, in March of this year, the official submitted to the State Border Service a list of employees traveling abroad for aircraft maintenance. However, he included unauthorized individuals in the travel group. Among them was a close relative of the official. Thus, the evaders were able to cross the border disguised as aircraft engineers.
The ex-director has already been charged with the crime under Part 2 of Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Comprehensive measures are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the criminal actions of the defendant and other persons guilty of the destruction of the Mriya.
As reported, one of the largest and most powerful aircraft in the world, the Ukrainian-made An-225 Mriya, burned in late February as a result of an airstrike by Russian forces on Gostomel Airport near Kyiv.
Mriya commander Dmitry Antonov stated that the aircraft could have been saved. At the time of the Russian invasion, Antonov State Enterprise had a reserve airfield leased in Leipzig, Germany. The crew was ready to depart Gostomel for Germany on the morning of February 24 and even started the engines, but never received the order to take off.
At the end of March, the state-owned concern Ukroboronprom suspended Sergey Bychkov, the general director of the Antonov State Enterprise. Bychkov was subsequently permanently dismissed.
