The state-owned enterprise "Energorynok", which operates the wholesale electricity market in Ukraine, has selected Oschadbank as the recipient of a 1,3 billion hryvnia loan following a tender.
Energorynok raised a single tranche of UAH 800 million, as well as five loans of UAH 100 million each with a one-year maturity. The interest rate was set at 23,5-24,5%.
In addition to Oschadbank, the First Ukrainian International Bank, which belongs to Rinat Akhmetov, also participated in the tender, but lost the bid, offering a 35% rate.
It's worth noting that Energorynok's net profit for January-September last year amounted to UAH 2,256 billion, 79 times higher than in 2014 (UAH 0,029 billion). This company acts as a wholesale electricity supplier and manages the payment system for the country's wholesale energy market.
