Today, the Ukrainian Anti-Crisis Center announced a very interesting event: activists from virtually every grant-eating organization in our country that relies on State Department funding gathered to elect a Minister of Health, imagining themselves to be, at the very least, representatives of the entire Ukrainian people.
The campaign to select suitable candidates for Ukraine's top medical post has a rather ambiguous title: "Nothing About Us Without Us." That is, without the opinion of grant-eaters, you understand? (See the announcement –https://patients.org.ua/2014/11/11/anons/ ).
Such very well-known "doctors" as:
Maxim Latsiba, Dmitry Sherembey, Viktor Taran, Andrey Marusov, Elena Matsibokh and a certain Yulia Borisenko will choose a minister for us.
They will allegedly conduct a full public interview with candidates for this position.
However, judging by the qualification requirements for candidates published on the "Patients of Ukraine" website, their longtime protégés are suitable for this position: Yuriy Savko, Deputy Minister of Health, and Volodymyr Kurpita, Chairman of the State Service for Combating HIV/AIDS. They are also friends of the dismissed O. Musiy.
One gets the distinct impression that O. Musiy is thus seeking to seize control of the Ministry of Health for the second time in a row, and, as before, to control tenders, but this time through Yu. Savko or V. Kurpita.
His goal of antagonizing A. Yatsenyuk, thus stabbing him in the back, is also being fulfilled. Musiy once again has every chance of organizing an ungovernable ministry within the Cabinet of Ministers.
Please note that the so-called "ministerial elections" are actively supported by foreign pharmaceutical manufacturers, as these candidates are openly lobbying for their interests in destroying the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry.
D. Sherembey, head of the Patients of Ukraine Charitable Foundation, already well-known among medical officials, won't be left without a pie. In exchange for orchestrating the election show and the foundation's support for Savko and Kurpita, he is slowly but surely negotiating the position of Deputy Minister of Health and Head of the Tender Committee. However, the escalating scandal surrounding D. Sherembey's impending removal from the head of the foundation could significantly undermine his position as Head of the Tender Committee.
Moreover, Y. Savko has good reason to fear that Sherembey will not pass the vetting process for the position of deputy minister, as he has two convictions for apartment burglaries, both with substantial sentences, and is on the drug enforcement register.
As a reminder, media outlets previously reported that activists from the "Patients of Ukraine" Charitable Foundation have protested their leader and are preparing to replace D. Sherembey with A. Gapko, citing Sherembey's alleged lobbying for the interests of individual pharmaceutical manufacturers, using the Foundation's name as a proxy.
