The idea of an oligarch registry has lost its relevance, said the head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) Alexander Novikov, reports Interfax.

"In my opinion, the idea of an oligarch registry has lost its relevance, as the people we previously considered oligarchs have lost their centers of influence. This applies not only to businesses, but also, for example, to television channels," the agency's head stated.

After the war ends, one of the main tasks will be the country's accession to the EU, which means fighting corruption and creating a level playing field for everyone, Novikov argued.

As a reminder, the oligarch law, which provided for the creation of a corresponding registry, was adopted in the fall of 2021. The law's concept was criticized in the EU, and its review is being conducted by the Venice Commission.
